Wiring in conduits is a requirement of national electrical engineering standards, primarily to ensure the safety of power line installation. Conduit wiring is the foundation for "live wiring," laying the groundwork for future line maintenance, replacement, and home automation. It prevents damage to the wire insulation; if directly buried in cement mortar, silicates can corrode the wire insulation. It also prevents fires; in the event of a short circuit causing a fire in the wire insulation, the conduit can prevent the spread of flames because it is made of flame-retardant materials. Conduit also provides heat dissipation, mitigating overheating of the wires in special circumstances.
According to national standards, the space occupied by electrical wires within PVC conduits should be less than or equal to 40%. Wires of different voltages and circuits must never be run in the same conduit.
When connecting PVC conduits, connectors must be used, and the joints must be securely glued. The connection between PVC conduit and electrical boxes must be covered with a special sleeve; never directly connect PVC conduit to electrical boxes. During installation, ensure there are no joints inside the conduit to avoid dead wires. The distance between strong and weak current wires must be greater than 500mm, and they must not be in the same conduit.
Depending on the usage scenario, standard flame-retardant pipes are used in ordinary residential buildings, while flame-retardant pipes of B1 grade or above are required in high-risk fire areas, and fire protection lines are required to use conduits that meet the standards of the Ministry of Public Security.
