PVC pipe is essentially a vacuum-formed film used for surface packaging of various panels, hence it is also known as decorative film or adhesive film. It is applied in many industries, including building materials, packaging, and pharmaceuticals. The building materials industry accounts for the largest share at 60%, followed by the packaging industry, with several other smaller applications.

Over time, PVC pipes release chloride ions, making them unsuitable for water pipes. They also have poor impact resistance, making them unsuitable for gas pipelines. However, PVC pipes are inexpensive, have high rigidity, and expand and contract with temperature changes. Therefore, PVC pipes are divided into two types: PVC water supply pipes and PVC drainage pipes, used for municipal water supply and drainage, industrial water supply and drainage, civil water supply and drainage, irrigation, and vegetation watering.
