Generally, PPR pipes will not leak again and are extremely reliable. However, this does not mean that PPR pipes are without defects. Their high-temperature resistance and pressure resistance are slightly lower, and the long-term working temperature cannot exceed 70℃. Each section has a limited length and cannot be bent during construction. If the pipe laying distance is long or there are many corners, a large number of joints will be needed during construction. The pipe material is cheap, but the price of fittings is relatively high. Considering all performance aspects, PPR pipes are a cost-effective material, making them the first choice for home water pipe renovation.

 

In general, during water and electricity renovations, the existing water pipes are replaced. Home improvement companies and vendors recommend that homeowners install PPR pipes, always using hot water pipes, even in areas where cold water flows. Their explanation is that the technical parameters of hot water pipes are higher than those of cold water pipes, and the price difference is not significant, so hot water pipes are used for water system renovations.

 

PPR pipes come in diameters (based on outer diameter) ranging from 20mm to 160mm. In home decoration, the most commonly used are 20mm (4-point PPR pipe, different from galvanized pipe) and 25mm (6-point PPR pipe, different from galvanized pipe), with 20mm being more prevalent. If budget allows, we recommend using 25mm outer diameter PPR pipes, especially for cold water inlets, as modern homes are often densely populated with numerous water appliances and high frequency of simultaneous water usage. This will minimize issues like low water pressure and low flow rates.
