Q:1.Should thread seal tape be applied on the union flat face?
A:Absolutely not. Do not apply PTFE tape on the union gasket sealing face. Tape should only be wound on the male threads of the solar equipment connector. Placing tape on the flat face will cause leakage.
Q:2.Can this fitting operate continuously at 95°C?
No. The long term design temperature for PPR per national standards is 70°C. 95°C is only permissible as a short term peak. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures accelerates rubber gasket aging.
Q:3.Can the union be directly embedded in walls without access?
A:It is strongly recommended not to fully embed the union section. An inspection opening must be reserved for future disassembly and maintenance.
Q:4.Should the brass nut be removed before hot melt welding?
A:Yes. The brass nut and EPDM gasket must be removed before hot melting. High heat will damage the rubber seal, leading to subsequent leakage.
Installation Instructions
Set the hot melt tool to 260°C, standard PPR working temperature.
Before melting, remove the brass nut and rubber gasket. Then proceed with socket fusion on the tee's socket ends.
After welding, allow the fitting to cool completely to room temperature before reinstalling the gasket and nut.
Ensure the gasket sits flat, free of scratches or nicks. Tighten the nut evenly; do not overtighten to avoid thread stripping or cracking.
After completing all piping, perform a hydrostatic pressure test at 1.0 to 1.2 MPa for at least 30 minutes. Confirm no leaks before closing the system.
